Almost all women have cellulite. The culprits are weight gain, genetic predisposition and inevitable hormone changes in life. These factors cause the fat cells in the subcutaneous fat layer to increase up to 300 times their original size and stick together inside the pockets in which they are enclosed. The pocket is stretched upward while the fibres in-between the pockets are strained, circulation is inhibited and toxins and water trapped. This results in cellulite. Cellulite does not respond well to weight loss, exercise, creams, or even surgical liposuction. The only FDA approved method to reduce cellulite is Endermologie®.
How does it work?
Lipomassage is like performing gymnastics on your skin and underlying tissues. Its gentle suction mobilizes the connective tissues and its motorized rollers help increase circulation, thus facilitating the exchange of fluids. Lipomassage closes the gap between the two forces that originally created the cellulite, thus fighting their appearance. Various manoeuvres are applied first on the back, then on the buttocks, thighs, legs and finally on the abdomen.
How long are the sessions?
During the 35minute session, you will be asked to wear a specially designed body garment which helps optimize the effectiveness of the treatment and making it a more comfortable and hygienic one. Every patient requires between 14-20 sessions (depending on the severity of your cellulite problem). Each client is recommended to undergo two treatments per week for seven weeks followed by a once-a-month maintenance session. Continued commitment to a healthy lifestyle is recommended. It is also a great programme to undertake after liposuction to “touch up” problem areas and smooth out the lumpy areas after surgery.
Is it painful?
The sensation of the Lipomassage treatment is similar to a deep massage and is never painful. Most clients report a feeling of relaxation and an increase in their energy. Since the lymph system is stimulated, it is recommended that you drink at least two litres of water a day during the duration of your treatment. Lipomassage results are supported by measurements and photos (optional).
Which areas can be treated?
Areas that can be treated include the arms, inner thighs, gluten region (hips), buttocks, abdomen, calves and ankles.
Do I have to diet and exercise?
Lipomassage treatments do not replace diet and exercise. It is highly recommended that you add diet and exercise to your routine whilst undergoing Lipomassage treatment. Lipomassage treatments also work on men. In problem areas such as love handles and loose pectoral tissues, results have been excellent. What’s more, Lipomassage, through its relaxing and soothing action, has an indisputable stress-lowering effect.
